Hello and welcome to the Keep America Beautiful Recycle-Bowl School Competition Registration page. Recycle-Bowl is a free competition and benchmarking tool for K-12 school recycling programs to promote waste reduction activities. Be sure to sign up by Tuesday, October 13, 2015! Recycle-Bowl begins Monday, October 19, 2015 and runs through Sunday, November 15, 2015.
NEW PARTICIPANTS
You will go through the process of creating a Re-TRAC Connect account and then register for the competition. To get started go here – https://connect.re-trac.com/register/recyclebowl. Just remember to use an email address without a high spam filter and type your school’s name in correctly as it will appear as-is on the Recycle-Bowl website. You will first create an account in Re-TRAC Connect. You will receive an email from Re-TRAC Connect to activate your account and return to the system to fully register. The second step is to complete the “Recycle-Bowl – Registration Information” form. It has around 10 required questions regarding your school recycling program. You can save it and return to finish it later, but not until you hit the “Submit to Program” button have you fully registered for the competition.
PAST PARTICIPANTS
You will utilize your login and password from last year to register in the database system for this year’s competition. To login, go here - http://connect.re-trac.com. MULTIPLE PARTICIPANTS
Perhaps you are a parent with children in two different schools or you are a community wide recycling coordinator that provides recycling services to multiple schools, you can now register more than one school using one login email address. If you are new to the Re-TRAC Connect database, you will first need to make an account however.
SCHOOL DISTRICTS
4. For districts that are unable to report for schools individually –
Whole school districts that are unable to break out recycling data for each individual school can compete nationally against other school districts. Each district will track the weight of its recyclables and divide it by the total number of students, teachers and administrators. This category only includes recyclables generated by the district. Please note: Schools located in Mexico, Canada and a US Territory are encouraged to register and participate; however, they are only eligible to participate in the Open Division.
Recycling reports after competition
Schools will return to Re-TRAC Connect once at the end of the competition to report their recycling results. Results will include total pound of material collected and total number of students and faculty. Keep those login emails handy.
